On this Mojo cover, we see John Lennon who was part of the most famous music group of all time. The magazine is fairly cluttered with puffs and the big CD that the reader will get while buying the issue. This is usually the case with most MOJO magazines as they want to pack as much information on the cover as possible to give the reader a sneak-peak of what is to come. This allows him be the centrepiece which attracts the reader to the layout, instead of the Mojo logo. I think this creates and makes it seem that John Lennon is respected and that he is a true icon. While John Lennon is the main focus, different musicians are also mentioned in the cover lines e.g Nancy Sinatra, Bowie, Pink Floyd and The Stone Roses. These names would appeal to many readers as they are all quite well-known musicians.
Mark 5/10 Thoughtful comments on how Lennon is represented, especially your choice of the word 'respected, icon'. However, you then write about how much info there is, how cluttered it is and so on, but these comments relate to 'media language' not 'representation'.
